The Movement Control Order (“MCO“) has unexpectedly required Malaysian business owners, in many circumstances, to attempt to operate in a remote work environment.  This sudden adjustment has amplified the importance of relying on electronic signatures, in lieu of traditional “pen”.  

Recently, there are 7 measures announced by SSM to reduce the burden of the corporate sector to meet their obligations under the laws regulated by SSM. The announcement is found at https://www.ssm.com.my/Pages/Announcement-Covid19.aspx. One of them is in relation to the process of winding up against companies.  

1. Marriage is a voluntary union between a man and a woman for life to the exclusion of all others. It is a ceremony which allows a man and a woman to legally cohabit and have children.
     
2. Even though a man and a woman cohabit, majority of them do not spend 24 hours together in the same roof. Covid-19 has successfully tested marriage couples all over the world and is expected to lead to an increase in marriage break-ups because couples are being kept in self-isolation together.

The Evidence Act 1950 provides for the opinion of expert witnesses in legal proceedings. Section 45 defines the situations in which expert opinion evidence is admissible, i.e. if the court needs to form an opinion upon a point of foreign law or of science or art, or as to identity or genuineness of handwriting or finger impressions.
